Networking opportunities that we sponsor are Business After Hours, New Member Receptions, Committees, Business Forums, Annual Member Gala and an Annual Golf Outing.

The Chamber is the organized voice of business for The Kennebunks. We actively participate in the National, State and Local issues that impact our member businesses and helps shape public policy to create a strong economic environment to make you more successful. We help solve problems, overcome challenges and work with our members to continue making this the best possible place to live and work and prosper.
4) Community Involvement
The Chamber is a membership association directed by volunteers, so our committees set Chamber goals each year. Among our active committees are Membership, Finance, Communications, CPAC (Chamber Political Advocacy Committee), Local Focus Group, Building, Nominations, Annual Member Dinner, Kennebunkport Blues Festival, Holiday Auction, and Golf. Participating on committees allows every Chamber member to take an active role in leadership and that participation builds a stronger community.

Several informative publications are available at no charge through the Chamber including our monthly newsletter, the annual Visit The Kennebunks, our business resource magazine, and our newest addition, Kennebunks’ Winter Wonders digest. Each recognizes and promotes our members and offers the opportunity for free and low cost advertising.
6) Promotional Opportunities
At no charge our Chamber members receive a 50 word classified ad on our website with a link to their website; a business listing in our Visit The Kennebunks, our business resource magazine; brochure distribution at our two information centers; inclusion in our Business Card Exchange display; and promotion at the trade shows that we attend each season. Other low cost marketing opportunities are available to our businesses.
We offer enhanced web presence, newsletter inserts, co-op advertising in major publications, print advertising and classified ads in our chamber publications, and sponsorships of chamber events. We fulfill requests at the two information centers.
7) Visitor & Relocation Services
We respond to thousands of inquiries that come in person, in writing, via phone, over the web and via email. We mail wedding packages, relocation packages, and visitor packets all over the world. Information services that are provided to visitors can be the referral to a future resident because many visitors become residents after enjoying positive experiences in our area as a tourist. Chamber members ONLY are referred as business leads.
8) Business Leader Forum
The Chamber sponsors educational forums to help small businesses remain competitive in today’s marketplace. Recent forum topics have been website knowledge, public relations workshop, human resource issues, and increasing your tourism/hospitality marketing savvy. Our goal is to provide ongoing education for our membership.

The Chamber is your source for public references, community demographics, lists of major employers, local and area phone directories, lists of clubs and organizations, local maps and lists of local area businesses and public lands, and local, state and national legislative contacts. This information is available to help make your business successful.

You and your employees will receive Chamber Advantage cards which provide discounts or special prices for products and services offered by fellow Chamber members. Member Gift Certificate Program
The Kennebunk Kennebunkport Chamber of Commerce is making it easy to give the Kennebunks year-round. Good at over 100 member businesses, Chamber gift certificates make the perfect gift for employee recognitions, holidays, weddings and engagements, and other special events.
Chamber gift certificates act just like checks and redemption is simple. Included with each gift certificate is a list of the over 100 participating member businesses. The recipient simply selects the merchant of their choice and presents the gift certificate to any Kennebunk Kennebunkport Chamber of Commerce participating member in exchange for goods or services. Gift certificates are conveniently available for purchase at the Lower Village office.
For our member businesses, the program is just as simple. No logging, tracking, or mailing is required for redemption of the certificate. When your business receives a gift certificate, simply deposit it in the bank for the full face amount no service fee or discount will be charged, there is no charge to you. Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
Celebrate With a Chamber Ribbon Cutting Ceremony. The Chamber would be delighted to help your business celebrate with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony if the company has:
- Opened its doors in the last 12 months / Seasonal Openings
- Changed ownership or is under new management
- Moved to a new location
- Has been remodeled or expanded at its present location
- Seasonal opening
A Ribbon Cutting Ceremony is an important part of your over all marketing and advertising plan and is a great way to kick-off a grand opening of a business. It offers an opportunity to meet key leaders in the community and get acquainted with your neighbors and Chamber members. The Kennebunk Kennebunkport Chamber of Commerce would enjoy assisting you in planning a successful event for your company.
Scheduling a Ribbon Cutting with the Chamber should take place a minimum of two weeks ahead of the event to allow the Chamber time to invite members of the Chambers Board of Directors, the Ambassadors and dignitaries from the City to join your celebration.
Hors doeuvres and beverages are usually served, but it is your decision. Your plan can be as simple or elaborate as you like, whatever fits your budget.
- Chamber Staff Members will help to make things go as smoothly as possible. by:
- Well notify the Chambers Board of Directors and Ambassadors, City Dignitaries and chamber members and encourage them to attend your event.
- Well put you in touch with other Chamber businesses that can provide catering, deli and beverage services, publicity and even invitations.
- Well bring the giant scissors and take pictures at the appointed time
Well include a photo and acknowledgment of your ribbon cutting in an issue of the Newsletter. There is no charge for the Chambers involvement -- its a value-added benefit of being a member. People generally anticipate spending about a half hour at the ceremony, so be prepared with collateral materials.
