Welcome to The Kennebunks
Four Seasons of fun await you

Four seasons of fun await you in the “Kennebunks”, the destination that’s been dubbed “a magical place by the sea”. The five communities of Kennebunk, Kennebunkport, Cape Porpoise, Goose Rocks Beach and Arundel together give the area its collective nickname as well as its diverse charms.

You will love Kennebunk for its fabulous 18th and 19th century homes, once occupied by merchants and captains of both ships and industry. Visit its sweeping beaches, its interesting shops and charming restaurants.

Across the river, Kennebunkport is a picturesque seaside village, with world-class shopping, restaurants that range from the classic Maine clam shack to fine dining and unforgettable vistas in every direction. Here you’ll find whale-watch and fishing boats for a day on the ocean and kayaks for exploring the river.

Head three miles east to find Cape Porpoise. This working harbor, discovered in the 1600s, is a picture-takers dream, with lobstermen and fishermen steaming in and out in classic vessels, lovely in-harbor islets and the lighthouse on Goat Island.

Just a few miles northeast is the solitude of Goose Rocks Beach, three miles of sand and sea, perfect for swimming, with its near-by islands and salt marshes. The community of Arundel is just north of Kennebunk.Visitors enjoy its rural charms, with horse farms, rolling terrain and a score of antique shops.

And, you can enjoy the Kennebunks in any season! Of course, summers made the Kennebunks a world-famous vacation spot. The fresh salt air gently cools our abundant summer sunshine. Swim, play golf or tennis, do some fishing, take a bike tour, shop or see the sights. The winter months are special here. The relatively warm ocean water keeps the winter high temperature in the 30°s and helps the roads stay clear and safe. December is highlighted by the events of Christmas Prelude.

Everyone warms to our “February is for Lovers” month of “couples” specials. And in-between there’s cross-country skiing, sleigh rides, art galleries and visits to Portland’s museums and attractions. Big mountain skiing is two hours away.

Spring and Fall bring their own crisp charm, with woodland and beach walks… the first feel of the sun’s new warmth and the jolt of color from a wild flower.Autumn color here will leave you speechless. Our widely varied flora paints an extravaganza of red, orange and gold against the clear blue sky.Getting to all this fun is easy. The Kennebunks are just a 90 minute drive from both Boston’s Logan and Manchester (NH) Airport and 30 minutes south of Portland Jetport. We’re just minutes east of the Maine Turnpike (Rte. 95), with clear signage and fine roads.
